San Benito Health Foundation Celebrates Its 50th AnniversaryOn May 20, 2025, San Benito Health Foundation (SBHF) will be celebrating its 50th anniversary. Its current state-of-the-art facility and federally funded health clinic is a testament to how far SBHF has come from its humble beginnings.
It began in the early 1970’s with a group of concerned community members including farmworkers in a little office located by the A&W restaurant near the canneries in Hollister. It had only one part-time doctor who volunteered his time…bare bones, but a beginning.

The San Benito Health Foundation Community Health Center Responds to Allegations of Inappropriate Vaccine Distribution Campaign to vaccinate 10,000 Farm Workers Marches OnThe San Benito Health Foundation (SBHF) Community Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center and an NCQA recognized Patient-Centered Medical Home, has been providing a large range of medical, dental, vision, WIC and other health services to the community since 1975. Many of our patients are the front line workers who serve the public in grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations and other businesses, including providing the backbone of the farm labor resource in San Benito County. |
